Oscar is taking steps!

Not walking exactly, but 2-3 steps at a time. Fun!

11 months

O is 11 months today! He decided on the occasion of his birthday to learn how to back down stairs. That is a major accomplishment in our books because he's one step closer to being left to his own devices. His eighth tooth peaked out a few days ago. And he's starting to cruise a little more and a little steadier. Walking will be soon. He is all action and wants to be a part of and get into everything. He eats like a champ and he's now eating our food in addition to his bottles. He's not picky yet and eats pretty much anything we give him if he has any sort of appetite. He still doesn't want to learn to hold his own bottle, although we haven't been great about consistently teaching him.

He has a wonderful, huge smile that he loves tossing out when he gets his favorite thing--attention. When we're not fighting him to sleep or attempting to keep him out of everything dangerous and messy, he's pure joy.

play date with Oma and Gong-Gong

We had a fun afternoon with Oma and Gong-Gong doing what they did with me as a child during the hot Houston summers--walk the mall. Rafa loved the escalators. Other highlights were a fish tank, a fountain and all the people watching. Fortunately, they don't quite understand consumerism yet. One day I'll yearn for the days when we could go to the mall without someone begging and pleading for us to buy something.





Sylvia didn't really care if she was walking upstream, she just wanted to follow the lines on the floor.

I feel quite certain there's a photo of one of the kids in my family trying out the panty hat. She'll love these photos when she's older.
