6 months! (plus one week)
The little guy is growing up! Here are his 6 months stats:
Height: 27.5" (82%)
Weight: 18 lb. 5 oz. (63%)
Head: 17" (23%)
He's still having quite a bit of reflux, so we've added one more med and changed up his feeding so that he eats less at one time and more frequently.
I hesitate to put it in writing, but his sleeping at night is really improving! My body still wakes up in the middle of the night and has a hard time going back to sleep, but we're making progress.
BabyOscar still loves people and smiles often. He's starting to explore toys and try to crawl. He loves baths and anything outside, so we're glad the weather looks like it will be better for the next week.

prayers
We had always sung our prayers with SylRafa well, because at first they were too young to clasp hands and close eyes, and then because we just never started the habit. One evening, Oma was here babysitting while we went out and when she got the kids ready for bed, she told them it was time to pray. And they looked at her funny. So she asked us if we ever pray with our kids... Er.... So, ever since then, we've begun praying nightly with them. And it's beautiful.
We ask them whom they want to pray for. It's really fun to hear their responses. One particularly wonderful response is from Sylvia. Ever since one cold night when I suggested that we pray for the people who don't have houses and her Godmother Amy who lost her dad, when we ask Sylvia whom to pray for, pretty much every night she says, 'the women who don't have houses and Tía Amy'.

facebook fun
Facebook created this video and we quite enjoyed it. We might have even played it multiple times to experience that heart swell over and over again. We're a little obsessed with our children.
I just learned that this doesn't work on Apply products, so I'll have to try to figure out how to upload it to YouTube...

yes, Jesus!
Sylvia was singing to her baby doll the song we sing to them before bed and rocking her to sleep.

bath fun
I was told I'm not allowed to post anymore without photos. I'm not sure I can abide by that, I just don't seem to remember to take pictures that often... But, being intentional about it will help me capture the kids more often.
Oscar and Sylvia LOVE the water and baths. Rafa takes a little coercing to get in, but then once he's calmed down he generally enjoys playing in the water. He has even started splashing himself in the face and lying down and blowing bubbles. Maybe swimming won't be such a struggle this summer!

THIS close
I wrote a whole post on how close Oscar is to 11ish hours of sleep at night and lost it. Boo.
The short version is that he's now in his crib all night and most of the time we don't go in to help him go back to sleep, so he's self soothing. BUT, his version of self soothing involves crying, so I'm still waking up a few times at night. Apparently I need some self soothing techniques because sometimes I can't go back to sleep...
I keep hearing from other parents what good sleepers they have and so I keep renewing my faith that he can do it! Every night I think it will be the night that he (and I) sleep all night. One day I'll be right. Maybe tonight.
